Who is it for?

  • Youth who feel anxious around larger groups.

  • Youth with lots of energy, but need a structured outlet to expend the energy.

  • Youth who want to feel stronger, more capable, and more coordinated.

  • Youth who are curious about kickboxing, but need a beginner-friendly start.

  • Youth who play sports, but would benefit from more strength, better balance, and body control.

  • Youth who struggle with traditional team sports, but still need exercise - movement, confidence, and routine.

For families who are looking for more than just another group activity for their child, we focus on your child’s goals, personality, and most importantly, where they are at.

Unlocked Fitness does not offer large martial arts classes where children often become invisible or disappear within the group. Our small group sessions allow us to be dedicated to your child’s needs and goals.

We focus on making sure that your child feels safe and that exercises are age appropriate. We want your child to feel confident and capable in their own body, while not feeling overwhelmed.

For our neurodivergent youth, we want them to feel welcomed, supported, successful, and confident.

What your child will build

Your child won't just learn to kick and punch, they'll build the kind of confidence that carries into the classroom, the friend group, and every challenge that feels too big at first.

Through kickboxing and strength training, they'll learn how to push through hard moments, try again after they fail, and trust their own ability to figure things out.

For those children who are neurodivergent, this means a space built around how they learn best, not one they have to force themselves to fit into. What they walk away with isn't just a stronger body; it's a stronger sense of who they are.

  • Confidence

  • Strength

  • Focus

  • Kickboxing skills

  • Positive outlet

  • Athletic foundation

What a session looks like

Starting something new can be a little bit scary, so our initial goal is to create a relationship that is trusting, comfortable, and of course, fun. In the first two to three sessions, we will build a relationship with your child so they feel safe and comfortable. This relationship will be key to the success and enjoyment of your child (and, you!).

Sessions will vary from child to child to meet their needs, their abilities, their goals, and their interests. We are beginner-friendly with 1:1 or small group sizes. Classes are fifty minutes long with age (and need) appropriate kickboxing and strength training exercises.

Sessions include warm-up activities, stretching, strength training and/ or kickboxing as well as board breaking. The goal is to learn about our bodies, move around bodies, and have fun while doing it.

testimonials

My two boys, now 11 and 14, have been training with Shain Brooks for the past three years, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Shain is kind, fun, motivating, and genuinely invested in the kids he teaches. He does an incredible job of building discipline, respect, confidence, and resilience, while always making the classes enjoyable.

One thing I especially appreciate is how he adapts training when my boys have injuries, ensuring they can still participate safely. They leave every class with huge smiles, sweaty brows, and a real sense of accomplishment.

I truly believe Shain has played a significant role in helping my boys grow into well-rounded young men. We are so grateful for everything he has done for our family.

Our two children have been doing private kickboxing with Shain for over two years, and we couldn’t recommend him more highly. Both have additional needs that make group classes challenging, and Shain has been incredibly patient, accommodating, and skilled at adapting each lesson to meet their individual needs.

His genuine care and encouragement have helped our kids build confidence, learn new skills, and truly enjoy every session. Seeing their sense of pride and accomplishment after each lesson is priceless. We highly recommend Shain to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated coach.
